What is Non-Ablative Fractional Skin Resurfacing?

As we get older, our skin’s natural process of producing collagen slows down. Coupled with photodamage to our skin, the resulting effects are skin concerns including fine lines, wrinkles, loss of skin laxity, and age spots or other blemishes. There are different ways to address these concerns, like injectables, creams, laser and surgical procedures, each having their pros and cons. Perhaps the most exciting new option is Non-Ablative Fractional Skin Resurfacing. Non-Ablative Fractional (1540) achieves maximum skin improvement with minimal adverse events and minimal downtime, making it a desirable method to treat and diminish acne scars and stretch marks, fine lines, small wrinkles, skin blemishes, age spots and uneven skin tone.

ForeverYoung MedSpa Health & Wellness is the premier Non-Ablative Fractional Skin Resurfacing provider in Illinois. We use the most advanced fractional resurfacing technology to provide a results-oriented skin rejuvenation program. New to ForeverYoung MedSpa? How does Non-Ablative Fractional Skin Resurfacing work?

Considered the ‘next-generation’ in fractional skin resurfacing, Non-Ablative Fractional creates micro injuries deep in the skin in the form of a matrix. Healthy cells around the newly created matrix promote rapid healing, replacing old, damaged skin with new, rejuvenated skin. In addition, laser energy heats the dermis, resulting in skin tightening while stimulating collagen production. Unlike many resurfacing lasers, Non-Ablative Fractional is safe for most skin types because the majority of tissue damage is focused under the epidermis rather than on the surface of the skin. These treatments are effective keeping your skin taught, flexible and youthful.

Benefits of Non-Ablative Fractional Skin Resurfacing:

  • Minimizes appearance of acne scars and stretch marks
  • Reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Can treat sun damaged skin, age spots and Melasma
  • Helps with uneven skin tone
  • Stimulates cellular renewal and collagen production
  • Can tighten lower eyelids and frown lines

Does Non-Ablative Fractional Hurt?

During treatment, many feel a warm, prickly sensation as energy enters the skin. Topical anesthetic ointments and cooling are used to reduce unpleasant feelings during treatment.

Non-Ablative Fractional Skin Resurfacing Aftercare

Since there is only mild dermal disruption during treatment, in most instances, downtime is minimal. After treatment, a mild pink or red ‘sunburn’ appearance is common. Makeup can be worn after 24 hours of the treatment. The majority of our clients see results after 3 treatments, 4 to 6 weeks apart, but collagen production can continue up to 6 months post treatment.
While each person is different, most of our clients achieve excellent results from our skin rejuvenation programs. Even so, you will continue to age as you expose yourself to the sun and other environmental elements. What you can do is come back for regular touch-ups. Our clinicians will recommend the best maintenance plan for you.
